Planning.
The Pre-School plans your child’s activities throughout the year, using the EARLY Learning Goals as a guide.
Each term the Pre-School runs under a theme, this may be Seasons, Ourselves, Holidays etc.
The planning sheet for each week can be found on the notice board.
News letters/information.
The manager sends out a newsletter to parents at least twice a term.
You will be constantly informed throughout the year using these newsletters or slips. It is important to look in your child’s basket for these items of information. You will also find Pre-School information on the notice boards situated at the entrance.
Reward system.
The Pre-School uses a reward system consisting of certificates and stickers. The children collect stickers on a card, when they have acquired so many they will receive a Smilie treat.
Assessment records/books.
Your child will have an assessment book with all the “footsteps” toward the Early Learning Goals for the “Foundation stage”. This assessment book is used by the key worker to assess your child’s progress during the term and is used as information to help with planning activities to help progress your child towards the Early Learning Goal.
There will also be a book kept for your child that will have some of their work throughout their time with us as well as photo’s and information.
