Key workers.
Your child will be given a ‘Key Person Group’ when they arrive at the Pre-school. A Key Person will be one of the staff members. This Key Person will be your main point of contact regarding your child. The Key Person will also be your child’s main carer within the Pre-School.
Within this group your child will be with other children who will be moving onto school in the same year and term. There will be times during the session where your child will work specifically with the others in the Key worker group. This allows the carer to watch and assess your child’s progress. You will meet your key person once a year, normally at our Parent’s Evening which is held on the night of the Pre-school’s Annual General Meeting. You are welcome to come and talk to your Key person at any time when they are in the Pre-school, please catch them at the beginning or end of the session to arrange a meeting.
Manager/SENCO.
If you have any problems or questions to ask regarding the Pre-School or your child, please see your Key worker. If you are unable to speak to the Key worker or wish to speak directly to the Manager she will see you as soon as she is able. We are always available to speak to you and respect your position as main carer.
There may be occasions where the Manager/SENCO may feel that your child needs to see another professional with regards to their progress, for example a speech therapist. The Pre-School aims to help your child progress developmentally whilst there, and sometimes a little help from an outside agency is recommended.
