Q: Will the Shocktube damage the springs paint? A: The Shocktube is made of non abrasive high quality Neoprene rubber lined with low density nylon to prevent friction.
Q: Will grit settle within the Shocktube? A: Grit or dirt cant enter the Shocktube during normal road use.
Q: Will Heat, Water, or Condensation, effect the shock with a Shocktube fitted? A: The Shocktube is designed with 6 high quality rust proof eyelets,to prevent any possible heat buildup or condensation, with its built in 5mm overlap at the base of the tube providing an exit for any possible water ingress when cleaning your bike.
Q: I go off road, would grit or silt get into the Shocktube? A: Normal off road riding will not effect the Shocktube but we would recommended that off road riders flush out the Shocktube after prolonged riding through deep silted rivers or streams by simply peeling apart the Velcro and flushing with clean water the Shocktube will allow water to exit through the 5mm overlap at the base of the tube.
Q: Can I still adjust the shocks pre-load while the Shocktube is attached? A: Simply cut the upper cable tie roll down the Shocktube to gain access to the pre-load collar make your adjustments then insert a new 14.3” or 363mm cable tie into the upper channel of the Shocktube and tighten as before.
Q: I need to provide a measurement of my shock to R&G Racing, what do I measure? A: They will require the Length and the Circumference (Not Diameter)of the spring NOT the whole shock for help on how to measure your own shock please refer to instructions on the R&G Racing website or click here for information from this site.
Q: Can I wash the Shocktube? A: The Shocktube is washable by hand or at 40 degrees in a washing machine care should be taken not to use a harsh abrasive cloth around the Logo area if washing the Shocktube by hand.
Q: Does the Shocktube effect the performance of the shock? A: The Shocktube provides full protection from all environmental damage and has been designed not to effect the shocks performance in fact it maintains its performance over the life of the motorcycle Shocktube has been used successfully in testing by the Gresent Racing Superstock team 2009 ridden by John Crockford ex B.S.B. onboard a Suzuki K8 and Maz Racing at the I.O.M.
